About City View Retirement Community
City View Philosophy
Locally owned and operated, City View retirement community was founded on two core principles. First, the ultimate objective is to provide residents with an unparalleled quality of care that has been custom tailored to their individual needs. Second, City View has made concerted efforts to ensure these services are available at an affordable rate.
The City View Philosophy is geared specifically towards accessibility, service and a resident oriented, local management approach. After accumulating years of valuable experience within the industry, City View’s leadership understands what residents expect when they make the important transition to retirement living in Nepean. City View’s leaders have come together with a shared vision to provide affordable, quality, compassionate services that have been custom-tailored to resident needs.

Short Term & Respite Care
City View is pleased to provide a safe and nurturing environment to individuals requiring short term accommodation, assistance and services. Short term residents benefit from the same packages permanent Retirement Living and Assisted Living residents receive.
Memory Care Unit
Our memory care unit at City View still contains the standard features of a retirement facility that ensure the comfort and security of its residents but there are some distinctive differences.
Bright, strategically chosen colours and murals decorate the walls. That’s because everything within the 20-room wing — known as a memory care unit — is geared toward helping those whose memory has been impacted by Alzheimer’s or dementia to live their most fulfilled lives.
“Memory care is just about keeping people safe with 24-hour care,” says City View’s executive director, Patricia Courtney “There is some programming, but the focus is on the physical needs of residents. Memory Care, on the other hand, is cutting-edge in that it does that while also ensuring people who are living in their memories are doing so in a purposeful way.”
The memory care unit is modelled after the innovative memory living approach that is increasingly gaining popularity in Canada and abroad. In addition to an environment full of objects and decor that may jog or appeal to residents’ memories, the unit also takes a uniquely personal approach to care.
