Senior Spotlight-Jack Scott

Meet Jack!

Jack Scott was born in Moosejaw Saskatchewan to an Aviation family. His father was a pilot, Jack followed in his footsteps. Jack met his wife while teaching her brother how to fly. “I took her for an airplane ride, I think that helped!” The love for Aviation runs deep in the Scott family, with all of Jack’s 5 children having had a career in the Aviation industry, two of his 14 grandchildren are also pilots!

After many roles in the industry (flying school teacher, inspector, flying in the Arctic during the Radar project) Jack retired in 1997 with the title of Inspector General of Aviation. Jack and his wife took up cruising and took their love of dogs to a new level by competing in dog shows to keep busy during their retirement. They collected a pin for every cruise they took! (Over 20!) As well as produced 2 Canadian Champion dogs!

After the passing of his wife Jack moved into his own apartment where he “promptly learned to fall” which led him to joining us in 2018. Jack spends his days at City View making staff and other residents laugh, sharing his knowledge and love of aviation, reading and enjoying a cold beer at Happy Hour over some good conversation.

Thank you Jack for being such a fly guy!
